Word Limit: Up to 1000 words

We are pleased to launch an inspiring essay competition inviting thoughtful reflections on ONE of the following topics:

  1. The Quran as a Light in Times of Confusion
  2. How the Quran Shapes a Meaningful Life
  3. Walking the Straight Path: A Qurโ€™anic Perspective
  4. How the Quran Cultivates Resilience in Believers
  5. Learning from the Masters: How the Prophets called to Allah
  6. The Qurโ€™anic Narratives: More Than Stories
  7. The Transformative Power of Qurโ€™anic Reflection (Tadabbur)

Your Task:
Write an original essay (max 1000 words) exploring ONE of the above topics.

Whilst you may use AI, the winner will be chosen based on creativity and comprehensiveness.

This is an opportunity to share your voice, your perspective, and your understanding in a meaningful and creative way.

Theme & Focus

  • Write on ONE of the Quranic themes (from the list above)
  • Word Limit: Maximum: 1000 words [word count does not include footnotes, or appendices]
  • Keep your writing concise, original, and well-structured.

Content Guidelines

  • Creativity and comprehensiveness will be key in judging entries.
  • Use of AI
  • AI tools may be used for drafting or inspiration, but originality and depth of thought will determine winners.

Submission Details

  • ๐Ÿ“ฉ Email your essay to: admin@kingstonoaktree.com
  • Format: PDF and word documents – you need to submit as both pdf and word.
  • Include your full name, age, and contact details at the top of your submission.
  • At the bottom, insert the word count
  • Also, extra consideration for a more appropriate presentation using footnotes and referencing.
  • In entering your essay, you agree that your essay may be published or used by the Kingston Oak Tree Institute

Deadline

  • All entries must be submitted by 18th March 2026 (11pm).
